Discovering the Salt Pans with the city of Marsala and tasting some of the most important wines of Western Sicily
A private and customized tour, especially suitable for visitors to Western Sicily for one day who arrive at the port of Trapani on cruise ships or are staying in hotels and other accommodations. The tour is exclusive and private and includes pick up and drop off, transportation, guide, entrance fees, lunch and wine tasting.
I will be the driver and cultural guide with a historical perspective on your visit to Western Sicily: I am a certified cultural tour guide and certified driver and we will use my car. I will drive mainly on the flat coast between Trapani and Marsala where there are several panoramic points.

I will guide you along the old Punic road that connects Trapani with Marsala.
We will visit the salt pans of Trapani and those in the Stagnone Nature Reserve, near Marsala.
In Marsala we will visit the Archaeological Museum – Baglio Anselmi with the unique wreck of a Punic boat from the 3rd century BC and other important aspects of the history of western Sicily thousands of years ago.
Afterwards, we will visit the historical center of Marsala and the shops where you can find different wines and typical Sicilian foods such as “frutta martorana”, the Sicilian version of marzipan.
We can have lunch in a farmhouse with vineyard and olive trees such as a “baglio” (the classic farmhouse of western Sicily) and 19th century cellar in the countryside of Marsala, where we can experience a tour of the place with wine tasting, Marsala included.
